Get to know Derek
Derek has had a passion for being able to create content since before anyone knew what YouTube was. Even in high school, he spent time making music and videos for clubs he was a part of, dating back to the earliest days of Garageband and iMovie.
Fast forward to today, Derek has over 10 years of experience in professional photography, spending the several years as an understudy/second shooter for Jeff Thompson, Eau Claire's leading commercial and editorial photographer. Derek is an alumni of The Institute of Production and Recording in Minneapolis, Minnesota and has been playing/writing/recording/producing music for over 20 years.
"I remember the exact day when my passion was set-in-stone. Sixth grade band. The Band Director, Mr. Wenz, had such passion and purpose behind his direction and strived for perfection in the bands performance. Hearing those melodies, the harmonies of the different instruments and how they worked together; I knew I was hooked for life. This was paired with photo and video when I got to high school and worked with the Tech Ed teacher, Mr. Doering.
How heavy metal became my genre of choice, I have no idea, but the obsession with music has never once shown signs of diminishing.
Now, it is my mission to bring that passion to whatever you need to give you the highest quality photos, videos, or audio I possibly can."
